Successful Guidelines For Switching Dog Food Gradually
Unlike people, who can eat a variety of foods in a single day and not have any digestive upset, your dog’s digestive system is much more sensitive.  It is important that your dog switch dog food gradually from his current dog food to avoid digestive upset or tummy trouble.
On average, your dog will need a 7 day transition period when switching to a new food. To transition, mix your dog’s current food with his new food. Over 7 days, gradually decrease the amount of the current dog food while increasing the amount of new dog food. If you change his food too quickly,  you may find your pet becoming sick, which will involve a messy cleanup for you.
To help you with the switch of dog food transition, refer to the 7 Day Transition Schedule below:
Day 1-2  : Mix 25% of the new food with 75% of the old.
Day 3-4  : Mix 50% of the new food with 50% of the old.
Day 5-6  : Mix 75% of the new food with 25% of the old
Day 7    : Feed 100% of the new food.
