PlayStation Portable (official abbreviation: PSP) is a handheld game console released by Sony Computer Entertainment on December 12, 2004. In September 2007, the lightweight and thin PSP-2000 series was released. In October 2008, the PSP-3000 series, which built-in microphones, was released. In 2009, PSPgo was released. In 2014, the PSP was discontinued, and 82 million units were sold during the 10-year life cycle. After the PSP was discontinued, it was replaced by the PlayStation Vita, which was released in 2011.
