What’s the difference between the soft chews and tablets? Each GF3 tablet contains double the amounts of active ingredients as each chew. So 120 GF3 tablets are like 240 GF3 soft chews in terms of active ingredients. This fact doesn’t necessarily make the tablets the right choice, as most dogs will find the soft chews much tastier. They’re like liver-flavored treats drizzled in oil. Fats and oils are dog food manufacturers’ ace in the hole in getting dogs to eat their kibbles, so there’s almost no chance your dog won’t eat the chews. In contrast, the roast chicken-flavored tablets are powdery and free of oil so your dog may refuse to eat them, which can be a problem (you’d have to break up the rather hard tablet and sprinkle it in your dog’s food). However, being free of oil and moisture also makes the tablets last longer. The best-by date is late 2023 for GF3 tablets and early 2023 for soft chews. How do I find the right joint supplement for my dog? The only way is to try a few of them.
