The higher grade, the clearer and lesser impurities. == ABOUT PEACH RESIN Peach resin, also known as peach gum, tao jiao (桃胶) is resin secreted from peach trees which has solidified when collected. It is totally natural & nutritious, a natural nourishing delicacy which is the Asian secret to beautiful skin due to the large amount of collagen it contains. The preparation method, taste, texture & nutritional values are similar to the more expensive snow jelly & bird’s nest. The more affordable peach resin is becoming popular and known as the “commoners bird’s nest”. Peach resin appears to be amber in colour and glow through the light, the clearer the higher grade with less impurities, the darker the more impurities. Impurities are usually the tree bark & dirt that stick to the resin in the nature & during the collection & packing process. The impurities in peach resin can be easily removed when the peach resin is soaked in water. == HOW TO PREPARE/ COOK PEACH RESIN? There are many recipes found ever since the peach resin become popular. We will share the simplest preparation method & recipe. If you would like to experiment with other recipes, you may find many recipes on the internet too. ❤ PREPARATION ❤ 1. Soak the peach resin in clean, filtered water overnight (8-12 hours). It will absorb the water & expand ~10 times or more. Expanded peach resin looks like clear brown jelly. 2. The impurities will sink at the bottom & easily wash off when you release the excess water. Wash it once or twice with running water & use fingers to pick the impurities, ensure that the peach resin jelly is clean & ready to cook. 3. Discard the water. 4. Now you have the peach resin jelly ready for cooking! ❤ COOKING ❤ 1. Boil water in a pot 2. Add peach resin jelly, red dates, goji berries, dried longan and honey sugar/ rock sugar 2. Simmer for 15 minutes 3. Serve warm or cold == !! IMPORTANT !! == ♦ Avoid cooking too hot for too long or the peach resin jelly will fully dissolve in the soup!
