BOLD LUBRICANT 15W40 CJ-4 is a premium motor oil designed to meet the latest American Petroleum Institute (API) Engine Oil Licensing and Certification System under the classification CJ-4. CJ-4 Oil Performance Classification With today’s new emission standards and requirements, modern day engines are equipped with a variety of advanced emission control technologies such as exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and diesel particulate filters (DPF). The CJ4 classification was developed specifically to cater for the unique requirements of modern day diesel engines found in most SUVs and 4x4 trucks as well as to better protect older diesel engines. BOLD CJ-4 15W40 Engine Oil Use In Post 2007 Emission Controlled Engines API CJ-4 engine oil are highly recommended for diesel engines which are running on ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel for durability and performance. BOLD CJ-4 15W40 Engine Oil have been subject to the most severe qualification testing requirements of any API engine lubricant category. Older Engines (Pre 2007) and BOLD CJ-4 15W40 Engine Oil BOLD CJ-4 15W40 Engine Oil has also been formulated to offer the better performance over API CI-4 and API CI-4 PLUS oils when using both 15 ppm and 500 ppm sulfur fuel. While BOLD CJ-4 15W40 Engine Oil has been specially formulated to protect engines with advanced emissions systems using ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel containing 15-ppm sulfur or less, it is also designed to offer better protection than API CI-4 and API CI-4+ engine oil for engines running with 500 ppm sulfur fuel.
