The nappy area is particularly prone to rashes and even the best kept babies get Nappy Rashes and sore bottoms from time to time. Nappy Rash is due to irritation of the skin by the chemical breakdown of urine through urine-splitting germs. At first, the skin is spotty red and moist, later becoming thick and wrinkled, then peeling at the edges. Other complicating infections may develop if the tender skin is left unattended.
