We have also checked with various sources online, and the material seems to be synthetic. For instance, the holes are not slanted which seem to be created by machine and it does not pierce through the back of the leather (there are no 3-dots pattern on the back). The hole pattern is quite uniform as well. Having that said, the leather is not tested scientifically to identify the source and it is only based on our observation.
